NISSAN LEAF ELECTRIC
We’ve been building them the same way for over a century. We’ve been driving them the same way for over a century. Now, after 100 years of the same old car, it’s time for something new. Meet the World Car of the Year 2011. The 100% electric Nissan LEAF. The new car.
The new design
The ultra-aerodynamic design of Nissan LEAF actually helps save energy and improve cabin comfort. For example, the headlights defl ect wind around the wing mirrors as these are known to create a lot of wind noise.
Nissan LEAF loves the planet.
That’s why it’s made with a class-leading amount of recycled materials - including door trim, seats and fl ooring.
Even the bumpers are made from a unique Nissan recycling process.
The new energy
Charging Nissan LEAF is quick, clean and easy. Choose a long or short charge. At home, at work or even out shopping.
The new ownership costs
LEAF has low running costs - around 3p/mile electricity costs compared to around 9p-16p/mile fuel for average internal combustion engine vehicles. Plus its cheaper to service, having less mechanical parts and fluids and if you’re a company car user - its exempt from company car tax until 2015.
The new safety
The all-electric, no compromise Nissan LEAF contains not only all the standard cabin safety features, but new electric vehicle specfic safety - including battery fl ow cut-off s and a body structure built to protect the battery.
The new drive
Who said driving green isn’t fun? With better responsiveness than a family car and 100% torque at 0mph, driving LEAF will put a grin on your face. What’s more, the LEAF has a low centre of gravity - giving incredible driving stability.
The new signs
Nissan LEAF helps you keep an eye on your range and effi ciently utilise the energy from every charge. Of course - as in normal vehicles - energy consumption is aff ected by things like driving style, speed and outside temperature, but LEAF has plenty of new technology to help you go further.
The new connectivity
You can control charging from your smart phone*, and plan your journey from the web.
The new interface
Every element of Nissan LEAF, from the steering wheel to the clever palm gear shift, has been designed specifically for Nissan LEAF.
The new safety
Nissan LEAF is just as safe as a standard family saloon and has the additional benefit of no fuel risk. It has six airbags, ABS and ESP and a host of other safety features.
• Public / home charge (3 pin socket) 12 hours (recommended for occasional use only in home)
• Home Charging Unit (Not Supplied) 8 hours
• Rapid charge (available from selected locations) 30 minutes (for 80% charge)
Your home is the new filling station
A home charging unit provides the quickest, most convenient and reassuring way to charge your LEAF at home. It reduces charging times from 12 hours (using the standard cable) to 8 hours.
