Auto Trader’s New Car Awards is an annual consumer-led vote on the best cars in the current UK market, decided by the British car-buying public. Within the survey, owners are asked to mark their vehicle based on 16 categories, including stability, reliability, safety and features.

All versions are seven-seat SUVs powered by a 197bhp 2.2-litre turbodiesel engine able to drive all four wheels through an intelligent four-wheel-drive system. In 2018, the Sorento was updated to include a subtly sportier look with the introduction of ‘GT-Line’ and ‘GT-Line S’ variants and the availability of an eight-speed automatic gearbox.
