Wilsons of Rathkenny is pleased to announce that the Kia Sorento has been awarded Best Car for Towing at the Auto Trader New Car Awards 2020. Based on results from over 181,000 car owners who completed the survey, the Sorento took top spot within the category for excelling in all the requirements of a tow vehicle.

Auto Trader’s New Car Awards is an annual consumer-led vote on the best cars in the current UK market, decided by the British car-buying public. Within the survey, owners are asked to mark their vehicle based on 16 categories, including stability, reliability, safety and features.

As Kia’s largest SUV, the Sorento has executive-class space and versatility to match its premium styling, quality and refinement. All versions are seven-seat SUVs powered by a 197bhp 2.2-litre turbodiesel engine able to drive all four wheels through an intelligent four-wheel-drive system. In 2018, the Sorento was updated to include a subtly sportier look with the introduction of ‘GT-Line’ and ‘GT-Line S’ variants and the availability of an eight-speed automatic gearbox.

Erin Baker, Editorial Director of Auto Trader, said: "The Kia Sorento is a great-value, good-looking large SUV which offers easy driving and a generous amount of kit on board. Congratulations to Kia on an excellent win."

David Simpson, commented on the win: “We’re delighted to see the Sorento win this award, particularly since the Sportage was also named Best Car for Towing the year before. It goes to show that our customers continue to be satisfied with the quality of their vehicles year on year. The Sorento is an excellent choice for towing as there is no need to compromise between power, reliability and style. If you would like further information or to book a test drive, please do not hesitate to get in touch.”
