ATV Safety Training at Wilsons of Rathkenny

We were delighted to welcome Chris from Training 4 Offroad to Wilson's of Rathkenny Agri last week.
Chris spent a few days onsite, completing The ATV RiderCourse with the team. Training 4 Offroad delivers a wide range of approved courses to make the operation of off road vehicles safer for the driver, vehicle and passengers. This particular course is EASI accredited training - EASI is the European All-Terrain Vehicle Safety Institute.
The ATV RiderCourse is a hands-on learning experience, with particular emphasis on the safety while operating an ATV.
The course covered various areas including:
- Protective gear
- Environmental concerns
- Local laws
- Safety techniques
The training included:
- Pre-ride inspections
- Starting and stopping
- Turning (gradual and quick)
- Hills (stopping, u-turns, traversing)
- Emergency stopping and swerving
- riding over obstacles
