Wilsons of Rathkenny helping to build bridges with local schools

Posted on 24 Mar 2017
Wilsons of Rathkenny helping to build bridges with local schools Wilsons of Rathkenny are proud to support an event organised by Ballymena Rotary Club designed to give a practical model of manufacturing to local school children aged 14.

The event that took place today at Farm Lodge Campus in Ballymena saw 18 teams of pupils from 9 local schools competing to build a model bridge which is capable of carrying 1kg and  elevated to allow a boat to pass under.

This practical and fun project has the objective of  encouraging school children  to consider STEM subjects, (science, technology, engineering and mathematics).

Judging by how enthused the children were with the task we think there are some budding engineers in the group
